Black Lives, In Mind. “We are Powerful Because We Have Survived”: Black Resilience and Care of the Self

                                                                             Street Art, NYC

The above quote by renowned Black author and philosopher Audre Lorde speaks to the resilience of Black and Brown communities, who for centuries have faced significant levels of societal adversity. Our presenters will address how these communities continue to find “Black Joy” through care and connection. This presentation is sponsored by the Committee for Equity and Diversity Education and Action of the Connecticut Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology and the New Haven County, Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW), and Greater Hartford Alliance, Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW).
